Martha Ran Gao
PhD Student
Martha is a MS/PhD track student from Connecticut who grew up in Shanghai, China, finished high school in Massachusetts, and went to California to receive her B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College in 2021. While at Mudd, she worked in a lab designing and performing research on an acoustically powered autonomous fish tracker. Since graduating, she has been in New York City building transit tech as an Electrical/Computer Engineer with Boyce Technologies.
Her research interests include alternative energy sources, smart grid integration, and energy storage systems.
