Zong-Han (Mark) Lin
Mark is currently a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He completed his M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan, where he earned first place in his department’s undergraduate school. In 2023, he received the Best Master Thesis Award from the IEEE Tainan Section for his outstanding research and academic performance. His undergraduate research project also won first place in his department’s project competition, which resulted in him receiving the Best Paper Award at IEEE 2020 IS3C.
Mark’s research interests include VSC-HVDC, battery energy storage systems, wind farms, and their applications in frequency regulation. He intends to focus his future research on power electronic converters and smart grid controls.
